AT the break

The Break is a collection of four oceanfront residences on The Strand in Manhattan Beach, thoughtfully renovated and finished to a boutique-hotel standard. Available as short-term getaways and extended stays. Each residence offers direct beach access, unobstructed views of the Pacific Ocean, and the effortless luxury of life on the sand.

Two of the residences are situated directly above The Strand and offer panoramic views of the coastline while two of the residences are set back slightly and elevated above the ocean and provide more space and privacy. All four face west, so the light comes in long through the afternoon and the day ends over the water.

The Strand & Manhattan Beach

The Strand is the path that runs right along the sand — part walking/jogging path, part boardwalk, part front porch for the whole town. The Break sits directly on it. From your door to your toes in the water is about thirty seconds, the only commute we'd recommend.

A half mile south, the Manhattan Beach Pier reaches out over the water, with the small Roundhouse Aquarium at the end. The sand here is the spiritual home of beach volleyball — bring a ball, or watch the locals make it look easy. Downtown is just up from the pier: boutiques, coffee, oysters, good wine, better tacos. Take a bike further south toward Hermosa Beach or north past The Break; the path is (mostly) flat and the breeze is free.

When you do want the car, LAX is fifteen minutes away, SoFi Stadium and Intuit Dome are both very close if you want to catch a game or big event, and the rest of Los Angeles is right there when you need — pleasantly far when you don't.

AMMENITIES

We stocked the place so you don't have to pack much. Out in the garage you'll find a fleet of six Linus bikes, ready to roll straight onto The Strand, and a beach gear room loaded with beach chairs, umbrellas, boards, and the rest — so you can show up empty-handed and still spend all day on the sand. There's also a mural wall built for the photo you'll actually want to post. Help yourself to all of it.

GOOD TO KNOW

Pets are welcome, so bring the pup — The Strand is ready for long walks with your furry friend. Covered parking with EV charges included with every home except Seaglass. And you can book a single home, a combo of two or the whole building, which makes The Break good for couples, families, and friends, as well as corporate groups and retreats.

THE UNITS

One building, four homes, one calm neutral palette — each with its own color accent and its own kind of stay. Every one looks straight out at the Pacific, unobstructed. The only question is how close to the action you want to be.
